Handwoven fine sisal by women artisans in Kenya, their traditional timeless designs in hand-dyed blacks, browns and naturals and their modern spin of colourful creations, guarantee one-off pieces that start conversations and turn heads! The leather handles are a perfect complement to the finely woven sisal basket.
By buying directly from basket weaving cooperatives and paying cash immediately to every woman, Manabaskets helps women and their families living in rural, arid Kenyan villages. Penda is available in six different sizes: XXXL, XXL, XL, L, M, S and in varying colour palettes, with the larger baskets taking upwards of two months to hand-weave. You can choose from the traditional natural colour palette, or be bold and go for bright and colourful.
